LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Ethel Smith Deese of 1614 Holly Dale Drive, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born in Clinton, SC, the daughter of the late Seymore Smith and Viola Fields Smith and was the wife of Billy R. Deese. Mrs. Deese retired from the Lancaster County School District, worked with the Lancaster County Council on Aging, and was a very active member of Grace Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Deese is survived by her husband Billy R. Deese of the home, 3 sons, Jerry Robinson and his wife Maude of Lancaster, Ron Robinson and his wife Barbara of North Myrtle Beach, and Don Deese and his wife Debbie of Lancaster, a brother, Arthur Smith of Charlotte, NC, a sister, Ruby Bullington of Spartanburg, SC, 5 grandchildren, Teresa Robinson, Heather Robinson, Nicole Robinson, Jill Deese and Michael Deese, and 2 great-grandchildren, Luke Marchand and Hailey Barrett.Mrs. Deese was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ralph Smith and Oscar Smith, and a granddaughter, Susan Bundy.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Deese will be 3:00 pm, Monday afternoon, August 4, 2008 at Grace Presbyterian Church by Rev. Russ Wimmer with entombment to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.The Family of Mrs. Deese will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall and in lieu of flowers suggest memorial contributions be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 1026 Grace Avenue, Lancaster, SC 29720.
