LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Esther Grace Bailey Knight, age 84, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023. She was born November 23, 1938, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Bailey and Connie Baker Bailey and was the wife of the late James Robert Knight, Sr. Mrs. Knight enjoyed shopping, working in the yard and her flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church but attended Rich Hill Baptist Church as well.

Mrs. Knight is survived by her two sons, James Robert "Bob" Knight, Jr. (Jennifer) and Daniel "Dan" Knight (Renee); her daughter, Grace Knight Hilton (Dennis); six grandchildren, Connie Grace Riggins (Darrick), Laura Knight, Danny Knight, Travis Hilton (Ashley), Allison Tillman (Garrett), and Jacob Knight; six great grandchildren, Emma Grace Riggins, Olivia Kate Tillman, Maverick James Riggins, Evelyn Grey Hilton, Connor Garrett Tillman, and John Bruce Hilton; a brother, Douglas Bailey (Carol); a sister-in-law, Maxine Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband, James Knight; a grandchild, Benjamin Bruce Hilton; her parents; three brothers, Jimmy Bailey, Glenn Bailey, and Jack Wayne Bailey; and her sister, Isabelle Ledbetter.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Knight will be 11:00 am Wednesday March 1, 2023, at Rich Hill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Rod Yow and Rev. Bill Knight. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the burial. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Rich Hill Baptist Church, 1557 E.
