LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Ernest "Bunk" Reed Knight, age 72, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1953, in Lancaster, SC, a son of the late Charles Thomas Knight and the late Daisy Wright Knight and was the loving husband of Janet Knight.

Ernest, a pastor at Second Chance Ministries, loved sharing his faith and joy through singing. He cherished fishing at the lake, spending time near the water, camping, and most of all, adoring his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Knight; two sons, Timmy Bryson (Amanda) and Jamie Bryson (Melissa); his daughter, Michelle Crawford (Kerry); his special niece, Haven "Tator Bug" Hunter; ten adored grandchildren; numerous loved great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Johnson (Gene) and Judy Haire (Charles); his sister-in-law, Robin Williams; his brother-in-law, Daniel "Danny" Williams; and his special caretaker, Brooke Bryson.

Ernest was preceded in death by a son, Scott Bryson; a grandchild, Kenneth Bryson; his parents, Charles and Daisy Knight; and two brothers, Dewey Knight and Eugene Knight.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ernest will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, Lancaster, SC.
