LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Miss Emily Madyson Waits, age 15, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Duke University Hospital. She was born March 26, 1999 in Lancaster County, the daughter of Thomas Bradley Waits and Aryn Elizabeth Gordon Waits. She was a 9th grade student at Eastern Alamance School and of the Baptist faith. Emily was an extreme music lover, she loved to read and write short stories and had many friends and was loved by all.

Emily is survived by her parents, Brad and Aryn Waits, maternal grandfather, Donnie Ray Gordon, paternal grandparents, Kim and Julia Waits, maternal great grandmother, Lucille Hance, and paternal great grandmother, Nannie Hammond all of Lancaster, her aunts, Sharyn Lawrence Gamble of Graham, NC and Kimberly Ghent Waits of Lancaster, her uncles, David Gordon and Robbie Waits both of Lancaster, and Thomas Gamble of Graham, NC.

Emily was preceded in death by her sister, Meagan Elizabeth Waits, her maternal grandmother, Darwin W. Gordon, her paternal great grandfather, Robert Hammond, Sr. and her paternal great grandmother, Evelyn Waits.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Emily will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 1, 2014, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Wesley Campbell. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Emily will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, October 31, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorials be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org.
