Waxhaw, NC ~ Mrs. Emily Bowerman Salisbury, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 4, 2019. She was born November 8, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the daughter of the late Evart Bowerman and Myrtie Terry Bowerman and was the wife of Thomas E. Salisbury. Mrs. Salisbury was a missionary and member of Wycliffe Bible Translators for over 50 years.  She served in Mexico and Peru for many years.  She enjoyed reading and serving others.  She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  Mrs. Salisbury was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Salisbury is survived by her husband of 55 years, Tom Salisbury; two sons, Paul Salisbury and his wife, Kimberly of Concord, NC and Steve Salisbury and his wife, Annemarie of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, David Salisbury, Alexia Salisbury, Betsy Salisbury, Ellen Salisbury, Tobias Salisbury, Schaline Salisbury, Gabriel Salisbury and Carsten Salisbury; two brothers, Terry Bowerman and his wife, Pat of Imlay City, MI and  Al Bowerman and his wife, Gail of Mt. Pleasant, MI and many nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Salisbury will be 12:00 noon Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Zion United Methodist Church, 1665 Zion Road, Lancaster, SC officiated by Rev. Michael Jarrell and Mr. Butch Barkman.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
