LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Emily Williams Brazell, 94, entered her eternal home on Friday, September 26, 2025, after a brief illness. Born May 13, 1931, in Williamsburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Willie Hazzard Williams and Rosa Ackerman Williams.

Emily was a devout Christian and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends, baking, and listening to gospel music. A proud Clemson Tiger fan, she never missed the chance to cheer them on from the comfort of her home. For more than 40 years, Emily faithfully served her church by caring for its babies – one of her greatest joys.

She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Clyde Brazell; her daughter, Brenda Criminger (Charlie); her son, Mike Brazell (Susan); granddaughters, Crystal Carter (Scott) and Jennifer Bumgardner (Jamie); grandson, Jonathan Ormand (August); great-grandchildren, Jason Dobbins (Caroline), Matt Carter (Sarah), Grayson Ormand, Landon Carter, Gibson Bumgardner, Olivia Bumgardner, Emily Bumgardner, Holden Ormand, and Rhian Ormand; and one great-great granddaughter soon to arrive.

In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by four brothers, Olin, Nelson, Gulva and Joe Williams, and two sisters, Dorothy Williams and Lettie Mae Clarke.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.at Burgess Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral service will be held Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Todd Robinson and Rev. Marty Simmons. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
