LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mrs. Elsie Catoe Howard, age 76, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center. She was born August 30, 1940 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Jesse Coleman Catoe and Ethel McManus Catoe. She was the wife of the late Charles Howard. Mrs. Howard retired from Springs Industries. She was a very distinguished southern lady, always dressing for the occasion. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cleaning and working in her yard. She was a second mom to her siblings. Mrs. Howard was a member at Union Baptist Church.

Mrs. Howard is survived by seven siblings, Barbara C. Holden (MJ) of Kershaw, Martha C. Driggers of Cheraw, Brenda C. Adams (Terry) of Kershaw, Charlie F. Catoe (Deborah) of Lancaster, Carl L. Catoe (Maxine) of Fort Mill, Jesse Dean Catoe of Greensboro, NC, Jeffery P. Catoe (Tammy) of Greenville; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Mrs. Howard is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Howard; and a sister, Myra Deese.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Howard will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 21, 2016 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. J.D. Wilson and Rev. Jackie Jenkins.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Brenda Adams.
