Mr. Elliot Jeffrey Baratz, age 72, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at his home.  He was born February 27, 1947 in Winthrop, Massachusetts, a son of the late Samuel Baratz and Thelma Boord Baratz and was the husband of Louise "Lou" Schmidt Baratz.  Mr. Baratz graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor's Degree and earned his Master's Degree from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California.  He loved animals, especially his loyal companion and faithful friend, "Otis, the Wonder Dog".  He retired from Verizon, where he was in management.  Mr. Baratz served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Baratz is survived by his wife of 43 years, Louise Baratz; a son, Keith Edward Nealson and his wife, Mari of Durham, NC; a daughter, Kimberly Ellen Nunes and her husband, Edward of Danvers, MA; three grandchildren, Ardyn Flynt, Elena Nealson, and Chris Robert and his wife, Lindsay; one great grandchild, Hayley Houston and one due very soon; two brothers, Paul Larry Baratz and his wife, Deborah of Charleston, SC and Martin Jay Baratz and his wife, Kim of Edmond, OK.
