LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mrs. Elizabeth Aycoth Howze, age 82, died Saturday, March 14, 2015. She was born February 27, 1933 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Gayford Bradley Aycoth and Clefa Plyler Aycoth and was the wife of the late William Porter Howze, Sr. Mrs. Howze retired from the South Carolina Department of Revenue, enjoyed traveling and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, held several board positions and always helped with the church barbecue.
Mrs. Howze is survived by a daughter, Rebecca H. Eswara, a daughter in law, Margaret D. Howze of Murrells Inlet, a sister, Linda Pardue of Lancaster, two grandchildren, William P. "Trey" Howze III and Mitchell Collins and his wife Tammy, and four great grandchildren, Brooke, Brock and Zayne Howze and Meghan Collins.
Mrs. Howze was preceded in death by a son, William Porter "Bill" Howze, Jr.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Howze will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 16, 2015 at Hopewell United Methodist Church by Rev. David Inman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Family of Mrs. Howze will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, 3734 Heyward Hough Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
