LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Eileen McGuire, age 79, of Lancaster South Carolina, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, November 12th, 2025, surrounded by her family She was born August 3rd, 1946, in Bay Ridge Brooklyn NY, a daughter of the late Helen and Edward Taylor.
Eileen is predeceased by her son, Eddie McGuire and is survived and missed by the love of her life, Jack McGuire, loving husband of almost 61 years, and her children, Jacqueline McCarthy and her husband Kevin, Jeannie Burger and her husband Tom, Bethann Egan and her husband Jimmy, Jack McGuire his Wife Cathy. Forever cherished and remembered by her 8 grandchildren, Jack, Taylor, Joseph, Christopher, Jimmy, Shannon, KC, and Thomas. Survived by her sister, Betsy Hansen and Sister-in-Law, Gigi Taylor and their children; Christine Saffran, Larry Hansen, and Bobby Taylor. Eileen was predeceased by her brothers, Mike, Bobby, Pat, and Tom Taylor; and her niece, Kirsten Hansen.
Eileen was a devout Christian who loved saying her Rosary often and praying a Novena for anyone in need, Eileen was always thinking of others. Eileen ran a daycare for children for many years and was loved by all her babies that are now amazing adults. Eileen loved to bowl and loved her Monday night bowling league with her longtime friends; she was loved by all. Eileen also was an avid poker player that was serious about the game and loved her weekend long games with her sister, her aunt, cousins, and friends. Eileens favorite thing to do was gather with her family and friends whether it be a party, wedding, or a simple game night this was where she was happiest. Eileen enjoyed cruising with her husband, friends, and family.
Eileen's kind spirit, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of many. Eileen will be deeply missed by her family, many great friends, and all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass for Eileen will be 10:00 am Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Catherine Catholic Church officiated by Father Javier Heredia. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Burgess Funeral Home.
