VAN WYCK, SC ~ Edward "Ned" Quintard Nisbet of Van Wyck, SC passed unexpectedly on January 16, 2022. He was born on March 14, 1952, the son of the late Oliver and Ida Q. Nisbet. He is survived by his brothers, Bill (Cheryl) of Marietta, GA and Lee (Meg) of Corte Madera, CA, and his sister, Caroline N. Hewett (Carl) of Charlotte, NC, 9 nieces and nephews, 11 grand-nieces-and-nephews, and his cat, Misty. His brother, John, predeceased him in 2008. He never married. Ned was a 1970 graduate of Indian Land High School and a 1974 graduate of the University of South Carolina in Communications. He identified as a Buddhist. He lived in Nova Scotia and Boulder, Colorado before coming back to Van Wyck. He enjoyed playing the guitar for family and friends and sharing his love of the outdoors on Facebook. The joy of his week was lunch with close friends in Van Wyck. He will be especially missed by the larger Nisbet family for his stories and just the special person he was.

A reception for friends and family will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Van Wyck Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 5140 Old Hickory Road, Van Wyck, SC from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The family requests that those attending be vaccinated, masked, and observe social distancing. A graveside service will be held with family at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Burgess Funeral Home, Lancaster, SC is in charge of arrangements.
