Obituary

LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Edward "Mr. Ed" Walter Heins, age 84, died Wednesday September 3, 2014 at his home. He was born March 4, 1930, the son of the late Edward Walter Heins and Ellen Victoria Molander Heins and was the husband of Barbara Roecklein Heins. Mr. Heins attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, was a retired Physicist Technician for Brookhaven National Laboratory and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After retirement Ed enjoyed all types of carpenter work building houses, decks and furniture, and was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church.

Mr. Heins is survived by his wife, Barbara Heins of the home, 2 sons, Edward Heins and his wife Shelly of Grapevine, TX and Erick Heins and his wife Janet of Southold, NY, 2 daughters, Ellen Heins of Millbrook, AL and Elissa Blackwell and her husband Russell of Lancaster, a sister, Betty Luker of Wilmington, DE, 13 grandchildren; Michelle and Courtney Heins, Corrie Wingard, Matthew Ash, Brett Ash, Lindsay Grathwohl, Jaime Pirillo, Elisha Heins, Abigail Heins, Steven Heins, Erika Watts, Kyrstina Payne and Devin Starnes and 13 great grandchildren.

Mr. Heins was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Koenig.

The Family will host a Service of Remembrance for Mr. Heins at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Reformation Lutheran Church by Rev. Guy Shealy.

The family will receive friends immediately after the memorial service in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church 508 N. French Street, Lancaster, SC 29720; Home Care and Hospice of Lancaster, 902 W. Meeting Street, Suite A, Lancaster, SC 29720; or Antioch Volunteer Fire Dept., 3015 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
