LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Edward "Eddie" Hoyt Barton, Jr., age 77, passed away at Atrium Health- CMC Main on Friday, January 24, 2020.  He was born June 19, 1942 in Lancaster, SC the only son of the late Edward Hoyt Barton, Sr. and Sue Beckham Barton.  He was a Lance Salesman for 20 years and served in the National Guard. Mr. Barton enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He had many interests including coin collecting, puzzles, Popular Mechanics, and socializing, he never met a stranger.  Mr. Barton had a very giving heart and always willing to help others.  He was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church.

Mr. Barton is survived by his son, Eddie B. Barton (Gina); a daughter, Teresa Crenshaw (Layton); three grandchildren, Skylar Barton, Alex Barton, and Kayton Crenshaw; and special friends, Eddie and Suzanne Workman, Deryle and Dawn Blakley, Dr. Archie and Sybil Neal, Jason Workman, and Erica Workman Joefreda.

Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean Christmas Barton; and his parents.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Barton will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Hyde Park Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Darrell Thompson and Rev. Charlie Simpson.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the Family Life Center.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, 1898 Flat Creek Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
