LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Earlene Elliott Willis, age 89, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at her home. She was born October 25, 1926 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Fred Henry Elliott and Ada Ingram Elliott Horton, and was the wife of the late Douglas W. "Doug" Willis. Mrs. Willis loved her family and friends, and being "Coo-Maw" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her church and church family, and also enjoyed collecting birds. Mrs. Willis retired from Joslyn Clark Control and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Mrs. Willis is survived by a son, Mike Willis and his wife, Debbie; two daughters, Cheryl Morris and her husband, Richard; and Karen Ormand all of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Sharon Morris Stacks, Brian Morris, Derek Willis, Dana Willis, Christian Ormand and McKenzie Ormand; five great grandchildren, Taylor Stacks, Bailey Stacks, Emilie Morris, Madison Morris, and Draper Willis; one brother, Jim Horton and his wife, Betty of Charlotte, and a sister, Peggy Bigham of Fort Lawn.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Willis will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Reverend Chris Hayes and Reverend Mitch Ingram with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and at other times at the home of Mrs. Willis.
