Mrs. Dorothy Mae Kirkley Nichols, age 90, died Friday morning February 11, 2011 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born August 4, 1920 in Jefferson SC, a daughter of the late William Levy Kirkley and Verdie Gardner Kirkley and was the wife of the late Purdy Neil Nichols. Mrs. Nichols retired from Family Dollar as a sales clerk and was a member of Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Nichols is survived by her son, Dennis Nichols and his wife Susan, a daughter Glenda Nichols Mungo and her husband Robbie Mungo, 3 grandchildren, Chris Mungo, and Matthew and Sarah Nichols all of Lancaster. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by a brother Bill Kirkley, 3 sisters, Bessie Clanton, Gladys Price and Ruth Brasington The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Nichols will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Larry Helm and Rev. Dr. Bert Welch with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mrs. Nichols will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm before services and suggest memorial contributions be made to Second Baptist Church 1426 Great Falls Hwy, Lancaster, S.C., or Covenant Baptist Church 165 Craig Manor Road, Lancaster S.C. or Gideons International P.O.
