LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Dorothy "Nell" Ingram, age 94, died Friday, October 2, 2015 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born November 19, 1920 in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Henry Hayes and Lily Stancil Hayes and was the wife of the late John Phillip Ingram. Mrs. Ingram retired from Springs Industries. She was the organist at her church for 40 years. Mrs. Ingram enjoyed gardening and baking. There were no limits on what she would do for her family and loved ones. She loved her church family and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ingram is survived by two sons, James P. Ingram and David Ingram and his wife Paula; a daughter, Phyllis Mills and her husband Ronnie all of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ingram was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Linda K. Ingram; six brothers and a sister.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Ingram will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Rusty McAlister and Rev. Buford Hayes and Mr. Larry Small. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Saturday, October 3, 2015, one hour prior to the funeral service at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster and suggest memorial contributions be made to Sherwood Baptist Church, PO Box 813, Lancaster, SC 29721.
