LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mrs. Dorothy Lewis Lane "Dot" Altman passed away on November 9, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born in Lancaster on May 29th, 1933 to Leona Cauthen and Lewis Cullen Lane and was the widow of Henry "Lonnie" Altman. Mrs. Altman was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was for many years the church pianist. She retired after 40 years in the Insurance Field, and was well acquainted with everyone in downtown Lancaster.

Mrs. Altman is survived by her daughter and son, Donna and Rick Walden of West Columbia, her two beloved granddaughters, Rachel Lane Walden of West Columbia and AnnaLee Walden of Florence, her devoted, loving sister Becky Bowers and her husband Richard, nephew Steven Bowers and family, niece Michelle Jolly and family. She is also survived by "adopted sister" Marilyn Roddey, and cousins, Elaine Monroe, Tim, and Tommy Cauthen.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Altman will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Stephen Bowers and Rev. Patrick Clark. Burial will be private.
The Family of Mrs. Altman will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home in Lancaster, SC. The family request that memorials be made to HOPE in Lancaster, P.O. Box 166, Lancaster, S.C. 29171 and to Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Food Pantry) 2491 Emmanuel Church Road, West Columbia, S.C. 29170.
