LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Doris Mackey Small, age 83, of 604 Normandy Road, died Wednesday, February 02, 2011 at her home. She was born February 11, 1927 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Walter W. Mackey and Edna Hammond Mackey and was the wife of the late Gilbert Cleveland "Shorty" Small. Mrs. Small retired from Lancaster County School District as a Bookkeeper and was a member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years having served as Circle Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Small is survived by 2 sons, Gilbert "Gil" C. Small, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Lancaster and Steven C. Small and his wife Gloria of Columbia, 2 grandsons, Gilbert "Bert" C. Small, III and special friend Shawn and Brent Small and his wife Lesa, 2 great grandchildren, Sophie Grace Small and Mason B. Small, a sister-in-law, Bernice Mackey, and special nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life Graveside Memorial Service for Mrs. Small will be 3:00 pm Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Westside City Cemetery and in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, PO Box 670, Lancaster SC 29721, Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church, PO Box 170, Liberty Hill, SC 29074, or Hospice Care of SC, 412 N.
