LAKE PLACID, FL::::::::::: Mrs. Doris "Toppie" Rowell Jenkins, age 87, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at her home. She was born June 1, 1926 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Lewis Lestial Rowell and Mayme Funderburk Rowell and was the wife of the late William Ervin Jenkins, Sr. Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she enjoyed working with and planning activities for the Young at Heart Group.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by two sons, William E. "Billy" Jenkins, Jr. and his wife Susie of Lancaster and Lewis H. "Randy" Jenkins of Eaglewood, Colorado, a sister, Yvonne "Von" Hough and her husband Max of Lancaster, five grandchildren, Bret Jenkins and his wife Tonya, Deena Jenkins Barton and her husband Scott, Cassie Jenkins, Jaime Jenkins and Cody Jenkins, and four great grandchildren, Cassidy Barton, Annabell Jenkins, Justin Pressley and Dakota Barton.

Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Rowell and Joe Less Rowell and three sisters, Willa Clyde "Bill" Rowell Funderburk, Mildred Rowell Brooks and Geraldine Rowell.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Jenkins will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 19, 2014 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Billy Belk. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mrs. Jenkins will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home of Billy and Susie Jenkins. Memorials may be made to High Point Baptist Church, 1888 Rocky River Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
