LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Doris Wallace McManus, age 74, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at MUSC Health- Lancaster Medical Center. She was born October 3, 1949, in Monroe, NC, a daughter of the late Otis Wallace and the late Lula Plyler Wallace; and was the loving wife of RayVon McManus. Mrs. McManus retired from Springs Industries after 33 years.  She enjoyed family vacations at the beach and cooking meals for her family.  Mrs. McManus was the heart of her home and family.   She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. McManus touched many lives working with the children's ministry at her church, Union Baptist Church.

Mrs. McManus is survived by her husband of 55 years, RayVon McManus; a son, Darrell McManus (Spring); three daughters, Paula Taylor (Micky), Monica Anderson (Kevin), and Melissa Laney; eight grandchildren, Jarred Anderson (Cassidy), Emily Sistare (Dylan), Haley Smith (Jacob), Ashley Taylor (Noah), Kelsey Black (Jesse), Olivia Anderson (Preston), Ally Sweatt (Tanner), and Riley McManus; two great grandsons on the way; a brother, Jack Wallace (Ida); a brother-in-law, Dale Poole; a special cousin, Susan Carnes; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Elizabeth McManus; her parents; three brothers, Rev. Bobby Wallace, Horace Wallace, and Cecil Wallace; and two sisters, Sudie Faye Smith and Betty Jean Poole.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. McManus will be 2:00 pm Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Union Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Catlin Rollings and Rev. Jackie Jenkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
