LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Doris Parker Johnson, age 90, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at White Oak Manor. She was born November 14, 1925 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Eugene Archie Parker and Naomi Carnes Parker and was the wife of the late Walter Augustus Dusty Johnson. Mrs. Johnson taught high school English for 39 years in Lancaster and Marlboro County. She enjoyed reading and loved giving gifts to children. She collected Beanie Babies to share with the children. Her love for children was sharing gifts for all seasons. Mrs. Johnson was of the Methodist faith and currently attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by a brother, Bobby Parker and his wife, Mildred; a sister in law, Vivian Parker; four nieces, Beth Johnson and her husband, Mark, Joni Hegler, Kim Blackmon and her husband, Kevin, Allison Welch and her husband, Brian; a nephew, Bob Parker and his wife, Heidi; five great nieces, Sara, Rebecca, Lyndsey, Anna, Brenna and Sarah; and six great nephews, Andrew, Daniel, Benjamin, Tyler, Caleb and Max.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother, Archie Parker; and a sister, Genevieve Jenny Parker.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Johnson will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 14, 2016 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Heather Humphries.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to Childrens Ministry at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 5908 Tabernacle Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to a charity of ones choice.
