LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Doris McManus Hudson, 83, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019.  She was born October 9, 1935 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Henry Toy "H.T." McManus and Polly Stacks McManus and was the wife of the late Laconly Eugene "Gene" Hudson.  Mrs. Hudson's passion in life was taking care of special needs children.  She had a special needs child of her own and she just loved caring for her own children; as well as, the children at her work.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by three sons, Randy Hudson (Salena), John Hudson (Greta Robinson), and Grady "Ticky" Hudson; six grandchildren, Jonathan Hudson (RosaAnna), Jay Hudson (Hope), Amanda Hudson, Crystal Hudson, John Michael Hudson (Jessica), and April Hudson; five great grandchildren, Emma Hudson, Jaxon Carter Hudson, Riley Grace Hudson, Landon Hudson, Katelyn Hudson, and Paisley Davis; two brothers, Shine McManus (Pat) and James McManus; a very special close niece, Mitzi McManus Gardiner; and other numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hudson; a son, Bill Hudson; her parents; and two brothers, Sam McManus and Joe McManus.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Hudson will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Mike Hammond.
