LAURENS, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Doris Jones Harman, age 89, resident of Martha Franks Retirement Center and widow of Roland E. Harman, died March 3, 2011. Prior to failing health she resided in Calhoun Falls, SC. Born in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late Feaster C. and Hettie M. Jones. Mrs. Harman retired from Abbeville School District as a Study Hall Attendant at Calhoun Falls High School. She was a lifelong, faithful member of Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she sang in the adult choir and taught Sunday School for over fifty years. Mrs. Harman is survived by her daughters, Shelda Evans and Deannie McCord and her husband Walter both of Calhoun Falls and a son, Jan B. Harman and his wife Rhonda of Laurens, six grandchildren; Brett McCord, Shelley Hollingsworth, Cray Evans, Mandy Kennedy, Lana Botts, and Heather Harman, seven great-grandchildren, Savannah and Caleigh Chrisley, Meg and Dayne Botts, Kerrigan and Chase Kennedy and Josie Beth Evans and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harman was last surviving member of her immediate family, preceded by ten siblings and a grandson, Nicholas Evans. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Harman will be 2:30 pm Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Virgil Manning. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville. The Family of Mrs. Harman will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:30 pm prior to the service at the church. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Shelda Evans, 2229 Seneca Street Extension, Calhoun Falls.
