Obituary

LEXINGTON, SC ~ Mrs. Doris Bradley Gardner, age 85, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 at Oakleaf Village at Lexington in Lexington, SC.  She was born September 30, 1934 in Kershaw, SC a daughter of the late William Eddie Bradley and Emma Catoe Bradley and was the wife of the late John Robert Gardner.  Mrs. Gardner enjoyed shopping, traveling, especially to Disney World and Hilton Head, eating desserts, and making memories with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Dottie". She along with her husband owned and operated Gardner's Produce in Lancaster for 26 years.  Mrs. Gardner was very devoted to her family and loved them dearly.  She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gardner is survived by a son, Wayne Gardner (Tammy) of Lexington, SC; five grandchildren, Nicole Trull (Heath), Will Gardner, Heather Nobles (Chris), Hannah Gardner (fiancé, Jamie Swails), and Lindsey Gardner; ten great grandchildren, Zane Hunter, Halyn Grace Nobles, Ashlyn Morell, Graham Nobles, Noah Morell, Liam Trull, Aubrey Gardner, Aliveah Gardner, Luke Nobles, and Oliver Nobles; a sister, Joyce Payne (Connie); two brothers-in-law, Charles Ray Stroud and Bobby Joyner; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Gardner; her parents; three sisters, Merkie Ogburn, Marcie Stroud, and Sue Joyner; and a brother-in-law, William Ogburn.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Gardner will be 11:30 am Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bart Miles and Rev. Bobby Joyner.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 am, prior to the service, in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, SC Chapter, 901 S. Pine St., Lower Level, Spartanburg, SC 29302.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all the love and compassion the staff at Oakleaf Village at Lexington showed to Mrs. Gardner.  She considered them part of her extended family.
