LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Donny Wayne Threatt, age 74, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023, at his home. He was born June 14, 1949, in Lancaster, a son of the late James Walter "J.W." Threatt and Evelyn Almetta Carnes Threatt and was the husband of Frances Browning Threatt. Donny enjoyed deer hunting, shooting guns, working on anything mechanical, and going to the mountains and the beach. He coached baseball for both of his sons while creating lifelong relationships with many of the players. Donny was a former Mason, a volunteer fireman for McDonald Green Volunteer Fire Department, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Air Force Reserves. He was a people person and loved to joke around.  Family was very important, and he loved each of his children and grandchildren dearly. He also loved his fur baby, Chewy. Donny was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Donny is survived by his wife of 40 years, Frances Threatt; two sons, Brian Threatt (Jessica) and Michael Cauthen (Lani); two daughters, Kelly Jennings (Wes) and Kim Jenkins (Phillip); nine grandchildren, Braxton Threatt, Lydia Threatt, Bryson Cauthen, Avery Cauthen, Cameron Jennings, Nicole Ghent, Lacey M. Lowery (Jamie), Devin Chappell, and Brailey Jenkins; nine great grandchildren and one on the way; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Sarah Robinson and Judy Munn; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Evelyn Threatt.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Donny will be 4:00 pm Monday, July 10, 2023, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Donald Tillman.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
