LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mr. Donnie Joe Smith, age 65, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home. He was born January 21,1951 in Odessa, Texas, the son of the late Joe Cleo Smith and Ora Pearl Brueggeneyer Smith and was the husband of the late Kathryn Elaine Osborne Smith. Mr. Smith served our country four years as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp and retired as a Master Chief in the United States Navy. He was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and guns. He was a member of the NRA. Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Smith is survived by a son, Jeremy Griffin of Lancaster; two grandsons, Jeremy Dwayne Griffin of Lancaster and Caleb Joe Griffin of Texas.

Mr. Smith was preceded by his parents and his wife, Kathryn Elaine Osborne Smith.

The Family will hold a private Memorial Service at a later date. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Moriah Baptist Association, 914 W. Meeting St. Lancaster, SC 29720.
