WAXHAW, NC ~ Mrs. Donna Lyn Thornburg Mulligan, age 56, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She was born August 2, 1966, in Shelby, NC, a daughter of Brenda Warlick Thornburg and the late Max Jennings Thornburg and was the wife of Michael Mulligan. Donna enjoyed trail riding, showing horses, camping, playing in her high school band, gardening vegetables and flowers, going to the beach, and was an excellent cook. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming a Pharmacy Technician working 36 years with 25 of those being at Barnett Honeycutt Pharmacy. She was extremely proud of her husband and his pastoring and her daughter, who plays in the Army Band, and she loved her cats. Donna was a member of Carolinas Cowboy Church, and she loved her Jesus.

Donna is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mike Mulligan; her daughter, Rebecca Mulligan; her mother, Brenda Thornburg; aunts, Linda Moorehead and Judy Loveless (Dave); brother-in-law, Keith Hardee (Sharon); and friends who are more like family, Joe and Kelli Eason and their children, Jade Prieger (Daniel) and Layna Eason, Susan White,  Phillip Eason, and Kristin and Neil Forrest.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Max Thornburg; and her sister, Kristen Thornburg.

The Celebration of Life Service for Donna will be 3:00 pm Saturday, September 10, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Pastors Jack Nunn, Bill Parker, Clarence Adkins, and Jeff Smith and speaker, Joe Eason.
