LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Donna Lynn Plyler Caskey, age 50, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024.  She was born September 7, 1974, daughter of the late Donald Plyler and Martha Randall Plyler. Donna held two careers during her life, the first being a biology teacher at Buford High School and the second being a Medical Technologist at MUSC-Lancaster. She was very athletic, especially in Volleyball and Softball and was awarded Class A Softball Player of the Year 1992. Donna was very intelligent, enjoyed cooking, and just spending time with her family, who she loved dearly. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and also attended Grace-Lynnwood United Methodist Church.

Donna is survived by her son, Noah Caskey; two daughters, Ella Caskey and Kara Caskey; brother, Steve Plyler (Jodie); aunt, Linda Plyler; and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Paul Plyler.

The Celebration of Life Service for Donna will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 26, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Kendell Healy and Rev. Kevin Cooley. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home and other times at the home of Noah, Ella, and Kara and the home of Steve and Jodie Plyler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace-Lynnwood United Methodist Church, 1905 Country Club Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 5908 Tabernacle Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
