Obituary

LANCASTER, SC::::::::::Mr. Donald O. Miller, age 73, of 721 Clarendon Drive, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. He was born May 10, 1936 in Lincolnton, NC, the son of the late Rev. Dewey O. Miller and Gipsie Martin Miller and was the husband of Benita Holder Miller. Mr. Miller was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He retired from Charlotte Van and Storage, was a member of Gideon's International and Covenant Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher for the Family Matters Class, was the Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship, and served our great country in the United States Army and Army Reserves. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Benita Holder Miller of the home, three daughters, Becki M. Gardner and her husband Mike of Rock Hill, Brenda M. Emmons and her husband Bruce of Charlotte, and Benay M. Lee and her husband Shane of Lancaster, a son-in-law, Paul Beatham of Lake Wylie, ten grandchildren, Bryan and Alison Gardner, Kristen Neal and husband Wayne, Michael and Caroline Emmons, Sydney Beatham, Kylie and Allie Starnes, Marissa and Savannah Lee, and three great grandchildren, Tiffany, Carson and Kherington Neal.Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Miller Beatham.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Miller will be 11:00 am, Friday morning, March 19, 2010 at Covenant Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Bert Welch and Rev. Tim Smith with burial to follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC. The Family of Mr. Miller will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 pm, Thursday evening, March 18, 2010 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions to Covenant Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 578, Lancaster, SC 29721, Child Evangelism Fellowship, PO Box 517, Lancaster, SC 29721 or Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
