LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Donald Adams "Don" Gibson, age 84, died Friday, November 7, 2014. He was born October 19, 1930 in Lancaster, the son of the late James B. Gibson and Audrey Adams Gibson and was the husband of Mary Edna Vincent Gibson. Mr. Gibson retired from Springs Industries and served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War having received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and a charter member of Covenant Baptist Church.

Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, Mary Edna Vincent Gibson, two sons, Ruddy Bumgardner and his wife Kim of Lancaster and Bobby Bumgardner and his wife Beth of Rock Hill, a daughter, Donna Gibson Stroud also of Lancaster, 7 grandchildren, Tonya Horton and her husband Jeff, James "Jamie" Bumgardner III and his wife Jennifer, Ashley Thomasson and her husband Patrick, Brett Bumgardner, Elizabeth Keifer and her husband Lloyd, Adam Stroud and his wife Amber and Jake Stroud, and 8 great grandchildren, Gibson, Emily and Olivia Bumgardner, Christay and Brendan Horton, Gavin Byron Stroud, Tillman Griggs Keifer and Ellie Marie Thomasson.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Gibson will be 3:00 pm, Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2014 at Covenant Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Bert Welch. Burial will be private.

The Family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and in lieu of flowers, suggest memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson's Association of the Carolinas or Covenant Baptist Church, Mission Fund, PO Box 578, Lancaster, SC 29721.
