MONROE, NC ~ On April 29, 2022, Dickie Roy Love died in his sleep at home in Monroe, NC. He was 82 years old.Dickie was born on April 2nd, 1940, in Lancaster SC.  He is survived by his twin sister Diana Love of Walnutport Pennsylvania, and his many nieces and nephews Brenda, Rex, Debi, Peppa, Terrie, Liza, and Dirk.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Bardsley, Mary Hazel Carnes, Oleen Love, Carol Killon; his brother Jim Love: and his daughter Tonnie Love Canup.

Dickie was a veteran of the Korean War, was active in Long Creek Masonic Lodge and had a love for restoring classic cars. At his request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he asked that friends and loved ones to take a moment and think of him while sitting in the sun. Whenever you feel the sunshine warming your face, he will be there.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in his name.
