LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Dimple "Dianne" Stockman Melton, age 72, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at her home.  She was born May 18, 1949, in Greenwood, SC, the daughter of the late John Henry Stockman and the late Betty Jean Mobley Stockman and was the wife of the late William Robert "Bobby" Melton. Mrs. Melton loved crafts and visiting with her friends. She enjoyed camping, going fishing, and being with her family. Mrs. Melton loved her church and singing in the choir. She was an active member at Friendship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Melton is survived by her daughter, Debbie Melton Jenkins of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Jason Melton (Samantha), Brett Jenkins, Austin Melton; two great grandchildren, Bayleigh Melton, and William Robbie "Will" Melton; a brother, David W. Stockman (Cindy); four sisters, Blanche McDonald, Wanda Nightingale, Lori Riley, and Jane Stockman; a special niece, Linda Pirkey (Jimmy); and a special nephew, Darrell Starnes.

Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert "Bobby" Melton; her son, William Robert "Robbie" Melton Jr.; a brother, John Henry Stockman Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Gail Melton Starnes.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Melton will be 3:00 pm Monday, October 11, 2021, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Donnie Birchfield and Rev. Donnie Tillman.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00pm- 3:00pm at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 1809 Bennett Rd, Lancaster SC 29720.
