Obituary

LANCASTER, SC – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Richard Morgan, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend. Dennis departed this world peacefully on October 18, 2024, in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born on January 12, 1959, in Lancaster, SC, Dennis lived a full and enriched life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.

Dennis was the beloved son of Hubert "Spanky" and Shirley Morgan, who preceded him in death.

An alumnus of Lancaster High School and York Technical College, Dennis embarked on a long and distinguished career at Duke Power, where he dedicated 45 years of service at the Catawba and McGuire Nuclear Stations.

Dennis found immense joy in life's simple pleasures, most notably, his love for the great outdoors. An avid fisherman and hunter, he spent countless hours immersed in nature, relishing the serenity and beauty it provided. One of Dennis's greatest qualities was the ability to 'fix' anything and you could often find him in his outdoor shop doing just that. He enjoyed traveling across the country riding in side-by-sides with his closest friends and deeply cherished every experience.

Dennis's greatest treasures were his family. He leaves behind his wife, Jeannie Morgan. Dennis was the proud father of Paige M. Nickelsen (Sam) and Matthew R. Beasley (Teri), and he took great pride in their accomplishments and the loving families they have built.

His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren: Callahan Nickelsen, Tristan Williams, Ryleigh Williams, Ethan Beasley, and Owen Beasley. He is also survived by his siblings, Debbie Traywick (Randy) and Greg Morgan (Shelma); and the children and grandchildren of Jeannie; her daughter, Laine Walden (Josh), their children Noah, Ryder, Gunnar; her son, Brandan Walton (Lindsay), and their children, Slater, and Hendrix.

Dennis's life will be celebrated at Burgess Funeral Home on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 2-4pm.

As we say goodbye, we remember Dennis not only for his achievements but for the memories created with him. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
