NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC –Mr. Dennis Woodrow Driver, age 71, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024. He was born April 29, 1952, in Lancaster, son of the late Billy Elliott and Edna Dixon Elliott and was the husband of Diane Gainey Driver. Dennis worked for over 30 years for Continental Tire. He enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach, NASCAR races and Carolina Gamecock football. Family was important to him, and he was lovingly known as "Papa". Dennis loved being with his wife, children and grandchildren and always enjoyed teasing and picking at them.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Driver; his children, Leane Todd (Mitch Knight) and Eric J. Driver (Donna); five grandchildren, Alexis Todd, Taylor Ann Todd, Dalton Driver, Gracie Driver, and Harmony Driver; brother, Thomas Elliott; sister, Tina Persi (Joe); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 20, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Trent McLaughlin. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Lawn, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm– 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home. The family is requesting no flowers please. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA  22116-7023.
