LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Della McAteer McManus, age 84, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022. She was born September 25, 1937, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Caldwell and Edna McAteer. Mrs. McManus enjoyed socializing, cooking, and attending ballgames for her grandchildren. Mrs. McManus loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. McManus is survived by her two sons, Kevin McManus (Kim), and Alan McManus (Kara); three grandchildren, Andrew McManus (Mackenzie), Derrick McManus (Adria), and Samantha Quinn (Zach); three great grandchildren, Peter Quinn, Anna Kate Quinn, and Declan McManus; a brother, Luther McAteer (Ivy); and a sister, Barbara Catoe.

Mrs. McManus was preceded in death by her husband, Billy McManus; her parents, Caldwell and Edna McAteer; her daughter, Charlene; and two sisters, Alma Neal, and Janie Thomas.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. McManus will be 11:00 am Monday, January 10, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Sammy Thomas of First Baptist Church, Indian Trail, NC and Rev. Douglas Rumley of New Salem Baptist Church in Monroe, NC. The service will stream live on Burgess Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. McManus will be open for viewing from 10:00 am – 11:00 am one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Mask are recommended but not required.  In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 1665 Zion Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
