LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Debra Hunter Plyler, age 75, passed away on August 10, 2026. She was born on March 23, 1951, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Weldon A. Hunter and the late Margaret Privette Hunter and the wife of James Edward Plyler.

She found joy in the simple things in life, especially spending time at Lake Wateree and riding horses along the beach. She loved her family dearly and had a special place in her heart for her animals. She was known for her caring and helping heart, always willing to lend a hand and care for anyone in need. She was a faithful member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family and the fellowship they shared. She also found comfort and joy in listening to Christian music. Above all, she was a simple, loving woman who found happiness in the everyday moments and the people and animals she held dear.

Mrs. Plyler is lovingly survived by her husband of 40 years, Edward Plyler; her two sons, Mike Mills (Jenny) and Todd Plyler (Trena); her daughter, Staci Burrell; her grandchildren, Wyatt Plyler (Angela), Farren Whitfield (Kohl), Brad Plyler, Ethan Scott, Reagan Burrell, Makenzy Mills, Gracie Burrell, and Hunter Mills; great-grandchildren, Isabelle Plyler, Fisher Whitfield, and Lily Plyler; her sister, Marilyn Roddey (Tommy Cauthen); nephew, Rusty Roddey; her beloved dog, Princess; and her large extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Margaret Hunter and her niece Kim Roddey.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Plyler will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Camp Creek Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Randy Mellichamp. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the burial in the Family Life Center. The family suggest memorial contributions may be made to Camp Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund, 998 Potter Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720.
