LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Deborah Ann Martin Starnes, age 73, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023. She was born August 7, 1950, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Henry Martin and the late Annie Pearl Cooper Martin and was the wife of Buddy Allen Starnes. Mrs. Starnes enjoyed playing the piano, yahtzee, and scattergories. She loved cooking, family dinners, and anything sweet! Her greatest joys were being with her grandchildren and going to church. Mrs. Starnes was a chartered member of Canaan Land Ministries Church.

Ms. Starnes is survived by her husband of 52 years; Buddy Starnes; her two daughters, Angie Cole Mackey (Mike), and Missy Starnes (Quad Huthmacher); nine grandchildren, Blade Cole, Reagan Cole, Morgan Cole, Adam Starnes, Quinton Huthmacher, Tyler Huthmacher, Allie Mackey, Maddie Mackey, and Michael Mackey; two great-grandchildren, Taelynn Cole, and Cameryn Gwin; four siblings, A.D. Martin, Doris Honeycutt, Henrietta Littlejohn, and Johnny Martin (Jennifer)

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Annie Martin.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Starnes will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Canaan Land Ministries Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Burgess Funeral Home.

The family of Mrs. Starnes will be greeting friends in the church fellowship hall from 10:20am to 10:45am. All guests who are attending services, please remain in the church fellowship hall until 11:00am, a Burgess staff member will lead guests into the church sanctuary.
