LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Deborah Shute Knight, age 70, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023. She was born April 25, 1953, daughter of the late Raymond Eugene McManus and Willie Mae Reeves McManus and was the wife of the late Brian Knight. Deborah retired from U.S. Textiles. She enjoyed going on vacation to the beach where she liked to play putt putt. Animals were a passion of Deborah's, and she loved all animals. Family was most important to her, and she loved them all dearly. Deborah enjoyed attending church when she was able.

Deborah is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Martin (Johnny Bam); grandchildren, Zachary Hinson (Chloe Boone), Cheyanne Martin Taylor (Dylan), Savannah Hinson (Hunter Burgess), and Raven Martin; great grandchild, James Burgess (due in April); and her sister, Willie Jean Steele.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Brian Knight and William Shute; and her parents.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Deborah will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Union Baptist Church Cemetery Officiated by Pastor Howard Penegar, Rev. Catlin Rollings, and Rev. J.D. Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, December 11, 2023, at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA  22116-7023.
