INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Mrs. Deborah Lynne Piercy Broome, age 67, passed away on Monday morning, September 29, 2025. Born November 29, 1957, in Morganton, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley "J.W." Piercy and the late Carolyn Nancy Dennis Maxwell and was the loving wife of Leonard "Len" Broome.
Deborah's journey began in Old Fort, North Carolina, before she made her home in Indian Land, South Carolina. It was then that she found her spiritual home at Greater Life Baptist Church, where her warm presence and deep involvement were well-known. She had a special place in her heart for her service as a bus and van driver, and her kind nature extended to caring for her elders. She was also a loving mother to her two beloved "fur babies," Flossie Mae and Brandi Lynn.
She is survived by her husband of almost 9 years, Len Broome; two sons, Wesley Stafford (Natalie) of Alaska, and Nick Stafford (Christa); her brother, Greg Piercy; and 13 loved grandchildren.
Deborah was preceded in death by a son, Stewart Stafford; and her parents, J.W. Piercy and Carolyn Maxwell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Burgess Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral service will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Life Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Dr. Tim Blue, Pastor Jerry Lewis, and Pastor Wesley Stafford. Burial will follow at Greater Life Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greater Life Baptist Church, Attn: Building Fund, 17025 Lancaster Hwy., Charlotte, NC 28277.
