LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Deanna Sue Robinson Ellis, age 87, passed away, Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was born March 1, 1937, in Camden, SC, a daughter of the late Ted Robinson and Willie Mae Payne Robinson and was the wife of Reecel Joel William Ellis. Mrs. Ellis graduated from Wingate College. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, traveling, going on family vacations, and just spending time with her family. Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Lancaster Christian Women's Club and a very active member of Second Baptist Church, where she was in the choir and helped with children's choir.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by her husband of 66 years, Reecel Ellis; daughter, Donia Turk (John); grandchildren, Jordyn Tabakian (Ryan), Noah Turk, and Sydnie Turk; sister, Judy Kirk (Wayne); nieces, Robin Standley (Matt), Kristy Mabe (Jeremy), Crystal Hammond (Joseph), April Deese (Ryan), and Debbie Larmore (Mark); nephews, Alan Kirk (Sheila) and Donnie Ellis (Allison); and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joel Shea Ellis; and her parents.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Ellis will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Dr. David Carlton and Dr. David Petro. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church for Lancaster Christian Academy, 1426 Great Falls Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
