LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. David Edward York, Sr., age 83, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his home. He was born February 11, 1938, in Warsaw, NY, a son of the late Art York and Mary Elizabeth Burse.  David was very active in his community at Tree Tops and loved playing pickleball, enjoying a glass of wine with friends, dancing and playing the banjo.  In his younger days, he enjoyed playing tennis, cycling, participating in triathlons, and traveling. David proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired after a distinguished career as a civil servant at the Pentagon.

David is survived by his son, Scott York (Dawn); four grandchildren, Michael York, Taylor White-Assali (Ronny), Amanda York, and Kaylee York; two brothers, Bill York (Pat) and Pete York (Mary Jane); and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by a son David York, Jr.; his parents; a stepmom Florence; and a sister.
