LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. David Ervin Miles, age 57, passed away peacefully at his mother's home Sunday, July 24, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born June 19, 1965, in Monroe, NC, a son of Catherine Elizabeth Gordon Stegall and the late Carroll Bruce Miles, Sr. David loved fishing, he was a commercial fisherman in his early years. He was a Master Carpenter. David loved his family dearly, especially his mother.  He will be greatly missed.

David is survived by his mother, Catherine G. Stegall; two children, Brittany Carter (Chris) and Jeremy Chatfield (Pearl); six grandchildren; three brothers, Jeff Miles, Sr. (Daphne), Gene Miles, and Julian Hunter; a sister, Juliann Hopkins (Richard); three uncles, Willie Gordon (Polly), Joe Gordon (Dee), and Jerry Gordon (Rebecca); dear family friends, Robert, Karen, and Riley Harris; special thanks to Laura Everall; and special friend, Jackie Lockwood.

David was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Bruce Miles, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Daniel Miles and Mary S. Miles; and maternal grandparents, Oscar Belk Gordon and Elizabeth M. Gordon.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held at a later date.
