IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Dwight
Lange
December 30, 1943 – June 30, 2016
Mr. David Dwight Lange, 72, died Thursday June 30, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System Pineville of complications due to a heart related event. He was born December 30, 1943 in Edmore, Michigan and was predeceased by his father, Dwight "Rudy" Lange and his mother, Elizabeth Fisher Lange. He was the loving husband of Carole Wendt Lange, most recently of Fort Mill, South Carolina. Mr. Lange was a retired educator and coach. He taught and coached baseball and football at Wyandotte Roosevelt High School. Upon moving to Pueblo, Colorado in 2002, he served as the assistant baseball coach for Colorado State University Pueblo. He enjoyed all sports, but his passion was the baseball program at CSU-P and the many student athletes that dubbed him "Papa Love" (PL). He was a devoted husband, father and a proud grandfather.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Carole Wendt Lange; a daughter Nicole Lange Burnett and her husband Robert Burnett, who he loved as a son and their 3 children Nathan, Alexandra (Ally) and Darren all of Indian Trail, North Carolina. He is also survived by a brother Barry Lange of Marysville, Michigan and by Barry's family, Barry Jr., Sara and Parker of Fort Gratiot, Michigan. He was so loved and will be deeply missed by the Blanks family, Lynn Wendt Blanks, Paul Blanks, Michael, Kelly, Amelia and Clara Blanks, and David and Heather Blanks all of Michigan. Dave never met a stranger and will be lovingly remembered and missed by his many dear friends in Trenton, Wyandotte and Port Huron, Michigan, Pueblo, Colorado, and the Sun City Carolina Lakes community where he most recently resided.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Lodge Sun City Carolina Lakes at 4PM, followed by food and beverage. In lieu of flowers, the family knows that Dave would have desired, as he always did, to assist student athletes. A memorial scholarship in his name has been established and contributions in his name may be sent in c/o Colorado State University Pueblo Foundation, 2200 Bonforte Blvd. Pueblo, Colorado 81001.
