LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. David Michael (Mike) Combs was born November 13, 1947 a son of the late Ray Leslie Combs and Dorothy Gregory Combs in Statesville, North Carolina.  He is survived by his brother Richard Leslie Combs; his sister: Nancy Combs Cline and her husband, J Patrick Cline; two nephews, Byron D Hager and Patrick Cline; and two great nephews, Garrett A Hager and Dalton B Hager.

Mike was a 1966 graduate of West Mecklenburg High School and a 1970 graduate of UNC-Charlotte.  He loved sports of all type with hiking being his favorite personal.  His favorite subject and of which he talked non-stop was politics. Mike had been disability retired for many years and seriously ill for the past year.

Per Mike's request there will be no formal services.  His ashes will be spread in the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest in the Nantahala National Forest.  The family would like to thank Dr. Carlos Albrect and Hospice in Home for their wonderful care.
