LANCASTER, SC ~ William "Dave" David Ballard, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.  Dave was born in Lancaster November 25, 1950.  He was a son of the late William Clifford "W.C." Ballard and Mandy "Whitey" Permelia McManus Ballard and was the husband of Ruth Jenkins Ballard.  Dave was a 1969 Buford graduate.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Dave loved working in his shop, doing woodwork, and making homemade cards for his family and friends.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Buford Variety.  Dave was a welder all his life.

Dave is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ruth Ballard; four grandchildren, Brooklyn Taylor (Tanner), Garrett Ellis, Yates Bradley, and Mazie Bradley; great grandson, Wyatt Carnes; two sisters, Marilyn Williams (Jerry), and Barbara Hash (Mike); a nephew, Jimmy Williams (Wendy); two nieces, Carrie Williams Helms (Gary), and Holly Noe; and three great nieces, Savannah Barbuscia, Jessica Williams, and Amelia Helms.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; and two stepsons, Chris Robinson, and Mickey Robinson.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 20, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home and other times at the family home.
