LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Danny Ross Steele, age 74, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022. He was born June 9, 1948, in Lancaster, a son of the late Archie Lee "Bob" Steele and Mary Ross Cauthen Steele and was the husband of Patricia "Pat" Catoe Steele. Family was most important to Danny, and he loved them all dearly. He always made sure that his family knew Jesus. Danny was a very involved active member of The Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church where he was a steward of the church and youth leader-MYF. Danny graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Limestone College. He was an avid Gamecock fan, loved sailing and going to the beach, enjoyed family genealogy, and was history buff, especially military.
Danny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pat Steele; two daughters, Greta Qualls (Ron) of Apex, NC, and Hollie West (Adam) of Camden, SC; five grandchildren, Alexander Jackson, Yadon Qualls, Nazareth Qualls, Lillian West, and Joella West; a brother, Terry L. Steele (Brenda) of Lancaster; and two nieces, Lori Wright (Timmy) and Amanda Steele.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents.
The Celebration of Life Service for Danny will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 15, 2022 at The Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Tim Espar and Mr. Adam West. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd UMC, PO Box 1082, Lancaster, SC 29721.
The family would sincerely like to thank Danny's healthcare workers; Dr. Kristopher Hanson, DO; Nikki Moser, RN; LaJeaune Cutino, RN. They would also like to thank all of their family and friends who have prayed for them during this season of their lives.
