LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Daniel Lee Bohnett, age 67, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at his home after a long illness.  He was born October 24, 1954, in St. Johns, Michigan, a son of Mary Fralick Bohnett and the late Burton Bohnett and was the husband of Sheila Gormley Bohnett.  Dan enjoyed his pontoon, fishing, golfing, hunting, talking to everyone, and taking Bella (his fur baby) for her nightly golf cart ride.  He loved to fix things.  Give him anything broken, and he could fix it, often like "Tim the Toolman Taylor" but he fixed it.  Dan retired from the Michigan State Police as a Detective Lieutenant after 26 years of service.  He loved the home he shared with Sheila here in the Edgewater community, it was his dream home.  Dan was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Michigan.

Dan is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sheila Bohnett; his children, Kyle Smith (Stacy), Emily Jostock (Ken), and Jennifer Nichols (Josh); ten grandchildren, Sydney Smith, Margo Smith, Gigi Smith, Zach Jostock, Erica Jostock (David Sowinski), Addison Laurie, Kerrigan Laurie, Emma Jostock, Nixon Jostock, and Rylee Nichols; one great granddaughter, Charlie Jostock; his mother, Mary Bohnett; his brother, Duane Bohnett; his sister, Robin Wiswasser (Steve); his brother-in-law, Tom Gormley (Doris); his sister-in-law, Judy Rozanski (Chet); several nieces and nephews; a wonderful friend and neighbor, Jan McDevitt; and his fur baby, Bella.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Burton Bohnett; his father-in-law, Maurice Gormley; and his mother-in-law, LaDell Gormley.

The Celebration of Life Service for Dan will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 29, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Bryant Blakley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Burgess Funeral Home.
