LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Curtis William Cameron Jr, age 68, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was born September 21, 1956, a son of the late Rev. Curtis Cameron and the late Sarah Revels Cameron. Curtis was a former car salesman and a retired insurance agent with Nationwide Insurance. A dedicated member of Sherwood Baptist Church, Curtis spent many years teaching Sunday School and guiding the youth. He was deeply passionate about his faith and committed to sharing the message of his Lord and Savior with others. Curtis found joy in listening to gospel music, sharing good meals, and spending quality time with his beloved wife and family. A passionate Gamecock fan, he cheered on his team with unwavering spirit. Above all, Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Janet Cameron of 29 years; his two daughters, Jo Lynn Vereen (Bobby) and Katie Morrison (Aaron); his son, Hunter Harmon (Summer); his four grandchildren, Jayden Vereen, Levi Harmon, Abel Harmon, and Ruthie Mae Harmon; his brother, S. Lloyd Cameron (Kathy); and his sister, Lynne Broach (Bobby).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Cameron and Sarah Cameron.

The Celebration of Life Service for Curtis will be 11:00 am Friday, September 12, 2025, at Sherwood Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Hunter Harmon, Pastor Steve Anglin, and Pastor Jeremy Ussery. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, one hour prior to service, in the Sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sherwood Baptist Church at 1030 Darlene Blvd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
