LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Crawford Gainey, age 75, died January 7, 2013 at his home. He was born April 19, 1937 in Lancaster County, SC, the son of the late James Gainey and Bennie Mae Clark Gainey and was the husband of Kay Hayes Gainey. Mr. Gainey was a retired Supervisor with the City of Lancaster, loved fishing and doing anything outdoors and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mr. Gainey is survived by his wife, Kay H. Gainey of the home, 2 sons, Jimmy Gainey and his wife Rhonda of Rome, GA and Jeff Wilson of Lancaster, a daughter, Angela Perry and her husband William of Lancaster, a brother, Anthony Gainey and his wife Wanda of Lancaster, a sister, Debra Sweatt and her husband Keith of Rock Hill, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Mr. Gainey was preceded in death by a sister, Julia G. Robinson.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Gainey will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2013 at The Chapel of Hartley - Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Bill Sumner. Burial will follow at New Cut Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The Family of Mr. Gainey will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the funeral home and suggest memorials to be made to Hope of Lancaster, 2008 Pageland Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720 and Hospice of Lancaster, 901 W. Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720.
