LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Corey Van Goodnough, age 30, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021.   He was born February 24, 1991, in Greenville, SC a son of Chris Van Goodnough and Tracy Rice Benton and was the husband of Kasey Bell Goodnough.  Corey was employed as a Foreman with Boggs Contracting and he loved to work.  He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, drinking beer, and hanging out with friends.  Corey always lived life to the fullest.  His family was most important to him, and he loved his wife and boys dearly.

Corey is survived by his wife, Kasey Goodnough; two sons, Jonathan Van Goodnough, and Bentley Dale Goodnough; both fathers, Chris Goodnough (Kelley) and Tim Rutland (Cindy); his mother, Tracy Benton (Van); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Scarlett and Brian Small; maternal grandparents, Debbie Towe (Billy) and Roger Rice (Debbie); two brothers, TJ Rutland (Kelsey), and Noah Goodnough (Melina); six sisters, Jessica Goodnough (Matt Kuraska), Jordan Goodnough, Laurin Stringer (Cole), Elyse Kelley (Levi), Casey Rutland (Quendo), and Savanna Benton; brother-in-law, Cory Bell (Jessi); two sisters-in-law, Amber Gainer (Bryan), and Makynna Small (Brandon Starnes); a large extended family; and a great group of friends and co-workers.

Corey was preceded in death by a sister, Brooke Goodnough; his paternal grandfather, Van Goodnough; and two uncles, Roger Rice and Slugger Rice.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Corey will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 24, 2021, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, July 23, 2021, at Burgess Funeral Home and other times at the home of Brian and Scarlett Small.
